I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Fiji in Saint Petersburg!
The Consular Commission was signed 14th of August 2021 according to the decision of the Prime Minister, after that 20th of September 2021 the exequatur was issued, on the basis of which I was appointed the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Fiji in Saint Petersburg. The Consular district covers 11 subjects of Russia: Saint Petersburg, Republic of Karelia, the Komi Republic, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov regions, Nenets Autonomous okrug.
Fiji is a distant and charming land, attracting the noble adventures and romantics from all over the world since ancient times. The warm boundless ocean, soft sand gorgeous beaches, the hunched over palms under the weight of the fruits match amazingly to the perceptions of Fiji as Paradise Islands by the citizens of Russia. A unique “Bula Culture” of hospitality and neighborliness of indigenous people supplements this perception.
Bilateral relations between Fiji and Russia are gaining momentum. We are happy to facilitate in establishing new contact and business ties in all directions. Culture and education, agriculture and tourism, investments and innovations, and of course sport. This is not a full list of directions possessing of great potential to develop and expand.
30th of January 2024 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Fiji and Russian Federation. I am sure that this date we will meet with implemented projects and ambitious plans.

Mr. Philipp G. Khanin was born on April 20, 1977 in (Ulan-Ude, BASSR): PhD in Political Sciences, Associate Professor of Department of World Politics at Saint Petersburg State University, Founder and Head of the Board of Directors of A.S. Griboyedov Foundation, Head of the Board of Directors of the European Rugby 7 Champions Trophy.
Married, has a daughter and a son.

On September 20, 2021, on the basis of a consular patent issued on August 14, 2021, Philipp G. Khanin was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Fiji in the North-West region of Russia with a residence in Saint Petersburg.
